The quick record button has its own defaults if I understood the manual
correctly.
Otherwise, go into the tools menu, and select voice recorder.
Hit the options menu with chord+o and select number 3, recording settings.
Make sure internal microphone is selected. To start with, try the middle
volume setting which is 31.
You can also set how high of a quality you want.
then, hit OK or chord+4,6. You will want to direct this to the hard drive.
If you then hit chord+4,6 or the OK button, it should start recording.
If not, then there is a problem with your unit and you should call APH.

question: i have never been able to get my voice recorder in my new braille
plus unit to work. what settings should one maintain in order to be ready to
record a quick voice note at a moment's notice without having to play
around with the settings before each session? also, are there any tips for
using the internal microphone to do this?
