I meant to comment on a couple other things.  The return/OK key can
easily be accessed with the right index finger, or you can bring the
right thumb up, as it lies just between dots 1 and 4.  
 
As far as funding goes, see if there is a Tech Act program in your state
which may offer low-interest loans.  You might check the Maryland
Technology Assistance Projects website at www.mdtap.org
<http://www.mdtap.org/> , as I know they used to list all the tech act
programs.

I am also looking at devices such as the Braille Note and PAC mate (see
last message for details). One thing I noticed that they have that I
haven't seen on this is the ability for Dot 8 to act as return (instead
of control), and I was wondering if we couldn't implement something like
if you hold hte key down for 2 seconds the unit will say "control" and
then you can press the short cut key.
