I-Tunes should have an options menu where you'd be able to tell it how you want your files saved when ripped.
But you know, it is likely that you have windows media player on your computer. If that's the case, you can bring up the option menu of the player with an alt t and then the letter o. Once you bring up that menu, you want to look for the music tab. Once there, tab through the various options, and you'll find an option that says something like rip music to this format. Arrow down to where it says mp3, then save the selection by tabbing to the okay button and activating it, by pressing the spacebar, or pressing enter.
Real player automatically rips to mp3 forrmat.Once you rip your music to Windows Media Player, I-Tunes, or Real Audio, you'll want to plug your Braille Plus to your PC via the USB cable, and put it in disc drive mode by selecting option 6 from the applications menu, arrowing down to the disc drive mode option, and pressing the okay or enter button.
Once you've done that, activate my computer or windows explorer on your PC, look for the folders where your music's been saved, (usually the my music subfolder within the my documents folder,) and locate the folder that you want transferred to the braille plus.
Once you locate the folder, copy or cut it, with a control C or control X, open up my computer or windows explorer, and look for the braille plus, which is now in disk drive mode. Usually windows will assign a letter to that drive, calling it mass storage drive e, f... depending on how many drives you have on your machine. Once you locate the drive, locate the music folder, select it by pressing enter, or right arrowing to open it, and paste your folders there with a control V.
Note1: If you ripped your music through I-Tunes, I-Tunes will make its own folder within the my documents folder.
Note2: The music folder in your brraille plus is in the hard drive, not the internal fflash drive.
Hope this helps. Marta----- Original Message ----- From: "Sue Ward" <groovy41@xxxxxxxx>

Okay, now how do I do that? I have not downloaded itunes yet, have never done this, I just read that you can do that, could you give me a walk through as to how to do this? What is really nice about the braille plus is the disk drive feature and the sync mode. This unit is awesome. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Poehlman" <poehlman1@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 30, 2008 3:43 PM Subject: {***SPAM***}[icon-discuss] Re: itunes with the braille plus.you can export them to mp3 and yes.----- Original Message ----- From: "Sue Ward" <groovy41@xxxxxxxx>To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 30, 2008 3:26 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: itunes with the braille plus.Hello there. Thanks for the response. It sounds easy, but I know there is afeature where you can put your cd collection on itunes then put it on an ipod, could that work with the braille plus? I really don't want to buy anything, I just want to put my cd collection on itunes, then put on the braille plus if at all possible.----- Original Message ----- From: "Beth Koenig" <bethko@xxxxxxxxx>To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 30, 2008 1:27 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: itunes with the braille plus.I use both an iPod and a Braille Plus. So I do use itunes. The music I bought on iTunes can not be played on the Braille Plus. However, I could rip them to mp3 and then play them. I have not started trying that yet as I have a lot to do and everything is on my iPod any ways. My podcasts that I download with iTunes are a different story however and I do transfer them to the Braille Plus simply because it lets me speed them up. You can only use iTunes to download the material to your hard drive. Then you must go to the my music folder in window and look for the podcasts and transfer them to the icon in disk drive mode. You would not want to put them in the podcast folder. but put them in there own folders and maybe the music folder on the icon though I have not tried that yet. -- Beth Koenig bethko@xxxxxxxxx Director of Deaf Blind Services Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center 2960 Main Street A100 Irvine, CA 92614 http://www.deafadvocacy.org/dbs Health, safety, and productivity are the cornerstones of independence.
