Ok. So, you are leaving the user name and password fields blank? If this is the case, then the Windows machine you are connecting to needs to have the guest account enabled with no password. Is this the case? Rob >>> ring2@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 04/16/08 05:00PM >>> Sure! First, I don't have any passwords. Let me give you an exact example. The machine I want to connect to is Skhye (that is the correct spelling) So, I type //Skhye/skhyering (skhyering being the folder on the machine I want to connect to). That is the main fold on the Skhye machine where the music is. I will paste below how it looks when I connect using a Windows machine. \\Skhye\skhyering I have understood that Linux likes the forward slashes instead. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ROB MEREDITH Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2008 3:15 PM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: Networking Rich: Can you give me an example of what your typing when attempting to connect manually? (I don't need the password, of course.) Rob >>> ring2@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 04/15/08 04:54PM >>> When I use the browse function, I see first, my workgroup name, and if I press right arrow, I see the name of one of the three machines that are on our network. When I attempt to connect to this computer, I receive an error message that mentions mounting, NetBIOS, and many many numbers. If, on the other hand, I attempt to add network folders manually, I receive an entirely different error. This error says that connection has timed out (and gives an imp address) and it then says that a process already in progress and the number 19,192. I've given up. This feature is just not happening. -----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Otis D Blue Sent: Monday, April 14, 2008 6:57 PM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: Networking Hi, I get the same thing. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Henrichsen" <paulh52@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, April 14, 2008 6:52 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: Networking > Hi.
