I've done that with my NBC podcasts and it works. I've noticed lately however that the podcasts come down in what appears to be mp3 format, because I don't have to rename them any more.

Hi,What I always do, is to go into the file explorer, open the podcast folder, open the nbc folder, find the file in question and rename that file with an mp3 extention. I simply call the file nbc.mp3, but you can name it anything as long as it has the mp3 extention at the end. At this point, you can open the file right there in the explorer. The music player opens and plays the newscast.Rp----- Original Message ----- From: "MICHAEL MCDONALD" <MMCDONALD@xxxxxxx>To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 25, 2008 11:22 AM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: MSNBC podcast feeds screwing up againThe problem is that NBC is redirecting the URL in their feed and that is where the QuerySplicedItemContent filename is coming from. IE, is probably keeping the original filename, since the second one doesn't make sense given the Mime type, so I will probably have to put in a similar solution to what they are doing.Miketerrell@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 04/25/08 06:49AM >>>Hello, I don't think it's the Braille+. do this: 1. Go to http://www.podcast.msnbc.com 2. Look for NBC Nightly news (audio).3. With internet explorrer, Click on the subscribe link were this has to be IE 7.)4. Where it says Open attached file, press Apps key then press A. Look at the file name. You'll see that's named properly. I've sent 2 problem reports concerning this issue. For the last two days the podcasts of the NBC nightly news have failed to play within the rss program. I had to use file explorer to rename the misnamed file in that folder to add the .mp3 extension and play it from within file explorer. Too bad. I thought this problem was over with once and for all. Don't know what MSNBC is doing with their podcast feed lists but I'm getting ready to just dump them.
