How does one go about checking the flash free space?
Additionally, how can we move our email out of flash to back it up?

  Subject: [icon-discuss] Email all gone

My email was recently restored to "virgin status" - no account info, filters,
or messages. Immediately preceding a Retrieve Email was a message about "please
remove recordings from flash".

Indeed, I had many recordings not yet transferred to hard disk, which I did
immediately with File Explorer (select, switch to Hard Disk Recordings, move
files). As somebody suggested earlier on this list, file space size info is not
immediately available within the Icon (does anybody know how, other than by the
PC connection?).

Of course, cause-effect of flash space free and loss of email is a question
to Icon support, but they're busy this week. Another problem immediately
preceding the email loss was a move of a folder of podcasts that could not be
dropped in the desired list location. Cancel that operation may not have
succeeded.

While it's fresh in my mind, here's the info on setting up pop3 accounts with
gmail in case anybody needs it. I forward several webmail accounts to gmail and
then have a gmail pop3 account on the Icon. The instructions for setting this
up are on gmail.com + Settings + Pop3 and forwarding + client configuration +
"Other". The tricks are to use the port info as pop.gmail.com:995 and
smtp:gmail.com:465 and to type you@xxxxxxxxx at every user info request.

After this Icon email loss, I'm glad I was using the gmail account as an
archive, although the account is now an awful mess. Yes, that's 3 redundant
copies of message: webmail, gmail, and Icon but reading is easiest on the Icon,
replying and sending on webmail, and searching for topic messages on gmail.
Works best for me.

Summary: Check your flash disk free space.
