What gets me is the fact my would passport 120 gig drive works in a pc and a laptop but not in a braille note and I presume no go on the braille+/Icon either.

Digital Passport Drive?
So would this mean that a Passport 160 GB might work and a 250 GB might not because of a higher power requirement to run the larger drive?

Many USB drives aren't specifically USB spec compliant andmarc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 4/15/2008 6:51 PM
require
anexternal power supply. I expect that may be the case if the
drive
starts and stops.
USB says that a device can only expect a certain amount of power
if
it is connected to one port. Many USB hubs, including those inside laptops, have multiple ports, and make the total power for all the ports accessible to a single device like a CD ROM drive or hard drive.
