Subject: [icevi-e-contacts] Memo from President of ICEVI-Europe

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the President of ICEVI-Europe, Mrs. Panagiota (Betty) Leotsakou, I
would like to provide you with an update.

First and foremost, we are experiencing a historical moment for ICEVI-Europe,
as Mrs. Leotsakou, as President of ICEVI-Europe was invited to attend the 10th
EBU General Assembly in London, October 26-28 2015, where she along with the
President of EBU. Mr. Wolfgang Angermann will officially sign a Memorandum of
Understanding and commence what we look forward to being a strong and fruitful
collaboration between the two organizations.

On another note, on October 9 2015, Mrs. Leotsakou was appointed President and
CEO of the National Center for Education and Rehabilitation for the Blind
(K.E.A.T.) from the Ministry of Labour, Social Insurance and Social Solidarity.
The Center for Education and Rehabilitation for the Blind supports visually
impaired individuals from all over Greece, with the objective of creating equal
opportunities for them by providing them education and thus enabling their
accession in society. In cooperation with other organizations, the Center
implements and participates in a series of programs regarding research,
prevention and education. Such programs aim to improve the services provided
by the center, information to parents and children and the development of new
opportunities for the visually impaired.

After working diligently in the hopes of attaining a tremendous opportunity
such as this during these last 6 years and yearning to truly make a difference
in the lives of the visually impaired, Mrs. Leotsakou's efforts succeeded and
were well rewarded. As President of the Center for Education and
Rehabilitation for the Blind, Mrs. Leotsakou looks forward to playing an
integral role in the further devlopment of the field of the visually impaired,
as well as, meeting the needs and challenges of visually impaired individuals
of all ages; a feat which cannot be achieved without the valuable support and
cooperation from all of you.

Thank you very much in advance. Have a wonderful remaining week.

Warm Regards,
Martha Gyftakos
Executive Assistant to the President of ICEVI-Europe
