Tom,
That’s good to know. Seems that these devices are a
perfect candidate for [External Model]-s… Another
way to do it would be to make an unpackaged [Model]
and then put the regulator and package models on the
outside of the IBIS model’s pins.
Thanks,
Arpad

Arpad
I’m seeing more and more chips that have on board LDO regulators in the chip.
Some of these chips allow the user to either run the chip using the on die LDO
or use an external supply for that power domain.

Ahmed,
Are you saying that the regulator is inside the buffer,
or are you talking about regulators on the board in
general?
Thanks,
Arpad

Subject: [ibis-users] Power integrity of IBIS models
Hi All,
I am working on IBIS model for buffer that uses a regulator for power
supply. The regulator can not be modeled in IBIS model.Any power integrity
simulations on IBIS model will give misleading results. How can improve IBIS
model such that PI analysis can be done on it?
Thanks
