Thank you for your reply. I think at least the answer to question 1 should be 
YES. Otherwise 5.0 model will break if 5.1 parser is used.

I am not so sure that's what Walter had in mind...
I remember talking about ***ignoring*** Format in
under the new rules.  I am just not sure whether
this includes the data that follows it or not...

My understanding is Yes to both questions.

The BIRD at hand was how to document just the
AMI material (without carrying the legacy terms
such as Format).

How the old material is still documented is still to be
resolved.
