Arpad, The words "The user may assign any value without any restrictions within the constraints of the Type of the variable." were inserted in the spec AFTER BIRD 127.4 passed. Thanks, Ambrish. -----Original Message----- From: ibis-macro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ibis-macro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Muranyi, Arpad Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 4:31 PM To: ibis-macro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ibis-macro] Re: A cut and paste error in IBIS v5.1? Ambrish, I am not sure why do you think that there must have been another BIRD to suggest this change. We went through a lot of discussions about the corrections that BIRD 127 proposed. I think this was just a result of one of those corrections. Bob, I didn't mean to suggest moving the text up or any such thing like that. I was simply objecting to the 'addition' of the following text in the spec " The user may assign any value without any restrictions within the constraints of the Type of the variable." The changes were invoked In BIRD 127.4 as reproduced below: On pg. 140 replace the following lines: | Format: (default is range) | Value <value> Single value data | Range <typ value> <min value> <max value> | List <typ value> <value> <value> <value> ... <value> with these lines: |* Format <data_format> <data>: |* |* Where Format is optional and <data_format> and <data> are required. |* <data_format> and <data> must be substituted with one of the following: |* Value <value> Single value data. Note that Value and Default |* (defined below) are mutually exclusive, and must not be used |* together for the same parameter. | Range <typ value> <min value> <max value> | List <typ value> <value> <value> <value> ... <value> So there must have been another BIRD to change the text. Can you or anyone else point me to that please? Thanks, Ambrish. -----Original Message----- From: Bob Ross [mailto:bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 4:12 PM To: Ambrish Varma; ibis-macro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [ibis-macro] Re: A cut and paste error in IBIS v5.1? Ambrish: I disagree with your editorial suggestion. There may be other issues with the definitions of Value, Range, etc., but the existing definition is textually formatted in a way that is parallel to the other definitions -the argument(s) on the same line and the definition under it. Here's another one: (Page 177) Value <value> Single value data. The user may assign any value without any restrictions within the constraints of the Type of the variable. Should be: Value <value> Single value data Thanks, Ambrish. -----Original Message----- From: ibis-macro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ibis-macro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bob Ross Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 2:47 PM To: Arpad_Muranyi@xxxxxxxxxx; ibis-macro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ibis-macro] Re: A cut and paste error in IBIS v5.1? I think I just found a fairly serious cut and paste error in IBIS v5.1 on pg. 185. Both GetWave_Exists and Use_Init_Output has the same exact sentence for the Definition: "Tells EDA tool whether the AMI_GetWave is implemented in this model" While this is correct for the GetWave_Exists, it is quite wrong for Use_Init_Output... I think this must be corrected for the next version of the specification.
