Michael Mirmak convened the meeting. No patents were declared.

Review of Minutes:
- Michael called for review of the minutes from the March 22 meeting.
Justin noted that Mike LaBonte should be listed as taking the minutes. He
also noted that the review of previous minutes were from March 15. Walter
Katz moved to approve the minutes with these corrections. Randy Wolff
seconded. The minutes were approved without objection.
Review of ARs:
- Michael to send out the Aggressor_only text, incorporate changes to Draft 4
and send that version out.
- Michael reported this is done.
Opens:
- Bob Ross is putting together a presentation for the European IBIS Summit on
the Interconnect BIRD. He plans to work with Michael and Randy to incorporate
pictures. Randy and Michael agreed this would be a good idea.
- Walter asked about the time between when the Interconnect BIRD is approved and
when it is incorporated in IBIS 7.0. He assumes that the parser work will not
start until IBIS 7.0 is approved, but he suggested that parser work for the
.ims file could be started early. Bob agreed that this is something to
consider.
BIRD189.1 Draft 4:
Michael showed BIRD189.1 Draft 4. He reviewed the changes from BIRD189 to
BIRD189.1. He showed the new figures from Randy are now incorporated and the
Aggressor_only nets highlighted. He noted the pins, die pads, and buffer
terminals order has been changed in several locations to make this consistent.
Michael commented that the Unused_port_termination rules are now changed per
Radek Biernacki's suggestion. He stated that the Qualifier_entry text has been
reordered. The Aggressor_only text now reflects Arpad Muranyi's suggestions.
Arpad commented that in the example on page 26 that some columns where not
aligned. Michael fixed the alignment in this example and checked the other
examples for the same issue.
Mike LaBonte had sent an email saying that the new Aggressor_only text had a
duplicate "be be". Randy also noted that the word "preset" should be "present"
in the the new Aggressor_only text.
Bob asked about the meaning of the phrase "at the die package interface" on page
24. Arpad agreed that this language is not correct. Michael asked if changing
to "die-to-package interface" would be better. Walter noted that this also
appears on page 15. Randy suggested to be more precise and call it "die
pad-to-package interface". Walter asked about all the other references to
interface in the document. He suggested to use the term "die pad interface",
as that phrase is used elsewhere. Michael changed these instances to "die pad
interface" to be more consistent with the rest of the document.
Walter suggested to add a definition for "die pad interface". Michael noted
that these interface terms are already defined in the Introduction section.
Bob suggested that we should distinguish between the terms "interface" and
"terminals". Arpad noted that terminals are specific connections and that
interface is a collection of terminals. He suggested to use the term "pin
interface" in the introduction to be consistent. He also suggested to remove
the terms "die pad terminal" and "pin terminal" from the document. Michael
made these corrections and noted that he will change this in Figure 47 as well.
Michael asked how we should proceed with submitting the document to the IBIS
Open Forum. He stated we would need a motion to do so.
Arpad moved to submit the draft to the open forum as BIRD189.1 including the
agreed upon changes with a recommendation from the Interconnect Task Group.
Bob seconded. There were no objections.
Bob is concerned that BIRD181 uses the name "Buffer_I/O", while in BIRD189 we
have "Buf_I/O". He stated that we need to settle on a name for this terminal.
Michael agreed that we need to look into this.
Walter thought that we should consider making a motion to put BIRD189.1 up for
a vote at an upcoming IBIS Open Forum meeting. He is concerned that people have
not yet read the BIRD. Bob shared this concern.
Walter moved to adjourn. Bob seconded. The meeting adjourned without
objection.
