Arpad,
Fundamentally, this is the same concept as the Registered DIMM example we've
been discussing. The equivalent is modeling the post-register address nets
that connect between the register and the DRAM, but have no connection to the
DIMM connector.

Arpad,
Yes. These connected die pads will show up as pins in the [Designator Pin List]
with the same signal_name. This signal_name will not be on any pins in the {EMD
Pin List]. There could be an Interconnect Model that connects these pins.
You call them pad, I call them pins. These are bare die IBIS files so the pin
and the pad are the same.

Subject: [ibis-interconn] Question about EMD
Hello,
I am working with a customer who wants to make a multi-die package model
in which he will have some die pads which are connected to each other but
not to any of the solder pads. Is that possible with our EMD syntax?
The reason I am asking is because I remember some rules in the [Interconnect
Model] keyword which requires the model to have a pin and die side terminal.
If we have the same requirement in EMD, the above may not be possible.
Could anyone tell me whether this could be done?
Thanks,
Arpad

All,
1. Designator list should contain a Part Number instead of a .ibs, .emd or
.ebd file name
2. New sections called [EMD Parts]
* This is a list of all unique Part Numbers and will contain a .ibs,
.emd or .ebd file name for each Part
3. New section called [Rail Voltages]
* This is a list of Rail signal_names and a Typ Min Max voltage.
4. New usage/rules for Pin_Rail as demonstrated by example below (note c.
and f. are new
* 1 Pin_Rail signal_name VSS
* 2 Pin_Rail signal_name U1.VSS
* 3 Pin_Rail signal_name *.VSS | Shorts all Designator pins with
signal_name VSS
* 4 Pin_Rail bus_label VSSa
* 5 Pin_Rail bus_label U1.VSSa
* 6 Pin_Rail bus_label *.VSSa | Shorts all Designator pins with
bus label VSSa
