[IASL] health news from Lourense

Dear IASL colleagues,
Recently Lourense Das informed me that she will begin chemotherapy on
Thursday for colon cancer which has already spread to other organs.
Her oncologist says that if this first 4-week round of treatment is
tolerable, then further chemo may give her two and a half more years (with
no treatment, only six months).
Lourense has chosen to fight for longer life through chemo and will need
our support along with that of family and friends all around.
She has served IASL as Regional Director-Europe and Vice
President-Association Operations, convening the 2015 IASL Annual Conference
in Maastricht, Netherlands.
