Hi Ian,
I was wondering if it was possible, and easy to allow a summon unit to be of a
diffrent team then the unit's own.

This may seem senseless, but I was wondering about a few situations.
For myself, I wanted to build a little in game editor for starship so that a
person could place various ships and structures and terrain to either make up
their own little scenario on a saved game, or to just play withall the various
ships and test new ships they create without having to delve as deep as we all
ahve gotten.

Secondly, some summoning situations in a magical fantasy campaign could summon
a bad creature if the summon spell is screwed up in some fashion. The old tales
of frankensteins monster running lose, or the clay golem of ancient jewish
legend being made for protection, but due to some flaw, runs rampage among the
people it was to protect etc and so forth.

Thirdly, there might be situations where multiple players might want to be able
to "reserect" a unit from a diffrent players team in exchange for gold etc.
That can't be done without some flag allowing it, or maybe the summoned unit's
name could have an asterix or something to signify it comes forth in the team
it was created for and not int he casters own team.

Imagine this if you will. A group of people playing tactical battles, not
against each other, but joined as a team against the computer. Each takes a
character and their team is that character, or group of characters. I don't
know if that is possible, but I actually would not mind trying out a
multiplayer game like that. It would defeinately be diffrent, a turn based
online multiplayer game.

Well, that ist he thing. Friendly might need to be able to be defined, or maybe
the team friends and enemies flags would establish all that stuff. But if
player five has a cleric that reserects player 1, then currently, player 1's
raised fromt he dead unit would be on player 5's team, see what I mean?
So it may be something to jot down on some list.
