That is a good point. I did not think of it like that.

Subject: [ian-reeds-games] Re: magic in warlords poll
I'd say don't limit the spells, personally. Warlords is a game that,
at least from my experience, offers a lot of choice. Don't take that
away by giving limitations.

I was wondering if people are interested in how magic works for warlords.
In the old one, mana points of some sort were used to cast spells.
My thoughts for a new one, I was wondering if it would be interesting to
work magic a little similar to den of the slave lords.
What I mean is, each mage/clerc would have spells. When one is cast, it
disapeers from the list.
When the list is used up, the spellcaster can rememorize more spells.
One the one hand, the spell caster will be forced to use all their spells
before rechargeing, so to speak. On the other hand, the spell caters would
actually use all the spells available, and present interesting changes to
tactics.
If there is some other way to use the magic, I also wouldn't mind hearing
it. I just wonder if the spellcasters are just too powerful in warlords or
if they are rather just magic catapults, just doing one or two spells and
ignoreing the rest.
