Hi Vojtech,
I have a hard time with that map too. Then again I haven't sat down and played
it till I got it won either, so there may be a way to beat the thing, grin.

Just wanted to say Hi back, and welcome. It is the holidays and I am sure
everyone is busy or working on map packs, lol.

Subject: [ian-reeds-games] greetings from Czech republic

  Hi,
I have sent this mail to Ian but I am not sure if it found its way.
So I am reposting it here as an introduction.
  ---
  Hi,
My name is Vojtěch Polášek, aka hamster007 from audiogames forum.
I have been thinking about ways of translating map files, and
unfortunatelly, the Gettext method can't be probably used.
I will try to explain. Gettext is GNU standard for localisation of
applications. But unfortunatelly, it can be used only with source codes,
not with regular text files. I think that it could be used to
translate your application and its messages. But I don't know in which
language is your app written and how does it handle messages. Could you
explain it a bit for me?
Back to translation. So only thing that I can do is probably find map
packs, which are going to stay stable for some time and translate them
manually, every effect and unit and skill etc. There isn't problem with
file names, they are interpreted well by my operating system (Windows
XP), but the game has problem with accented characters (č, ř, š...).
  Again, it will
be helpful if you can tell me more about the game).
We can talk about it through some other communication media, like Skype
or some kind of IM if you want to.
Now I can actually translate any map, but without proper accents. This
is usable but certainly not perfect.
Please try out the "Escorting the princess" map. I am probably just
stupid, but try it out. There are simply too many of them and they block
all the paths. I tried to use fighters to block out enemies, but always
  failed.
Just tell me if it is possible to make it, don't tell me how.
I wish you all the best in 2013,
  Vojtěch Polášek
