Just use ai_tile_curse in the skill file. The AI will use the skill
regardless of what the effects do, I think. So you can have positive
weather conditions.

one problem is that when I make all teams the enemy of the neutrals,
then the weather will end up only casting negative weather conditions.
Thing is that I plan to have positiv conditions too, which gradually
restore sertain points but make others go lower. I'll need to think
about this some more, but if having everyone constantly harassed by
storms, rain and snow is the only way to do it that's probably how I'll
need to imploment it.

That is actually a good idea though.
Trying to get the AI to cast on empty tiles is a bit tricky. I think it
is
the same problem it has with minimum range limits. One would have to
treat
the weather as a team that hates all other teams, but no team hates it.
The
other option might be to give it no allies nor enemies, but just have the
weather unit bounce back and forth across the map which I think might be
doable.

hey guys,
I was thinking to add in two suggestions for casting skills and effects.
Both of these when implomented could make things like weather conditions
on complex stratagy maps or natchural catastrophies possible. The first
is to have units be able to cast skills randomly on empty squares. If I
to, say create a neutral unit called Weather on a map which were
indistructable, you could have it use a skill like blizard, rain,
sunshine etc. on a square and this would simmulate weather for example.
The second thing is to make effects able to last for a random amount of
time that can be spessefied by the campagne creator once again useful
for lets say weather e.G. The weather unit mensioned earlyer would use
blizard on a square. This would cause sertain points to be lost for the
unit in the blizard, and when spessefieing the blizard effect, the
creator could say, duration =3r7 to have it last for 3 to 7 rounds,
randomly chosen just like damage inflict, restore, and protection
randomisation.
