Another option, although it is probably way out of the beaten path is to
the unit equipping the item be transformed silently to a unit that can notskill
be targeted by the spell in question.
With the friendly_type= flag this can be done seamlessly, I think.
So for example:
If I wanted a human fighter to become immune to the brain sucking skill, I
could have the unit transform into a unit called human fighter brain suck
immune.
The Human fighter brain suck immune unit would be in the brain sucking
not_useable_on= flag. Everything else would be equal to the original humanweapon
fighter.
Of bcourse, that is a lot of effort, but I guess it depends on if the unit
being immune make or break the map pack.

Could you copy and paste what you got? Spelling, spaces, the flag being in
the rrong file, or under the |script_flags are thigs that trip me up. I
generally avid copying and pasting from document sources as well, mostly
because for some reason they can paste weird. At least, that is what I
experience.
