You'd think, but the ai finds sneaky ways to apply the effects that are supposed to be applied to your summoning structure, and instead it applies them somehow to other units.
This was a bug I squashed in Quest for power.`

The problem is that you used effects instead of self_effects in the
skills that start to spawn units.
