Thank you for the offer, and yes, I would very much appreciate help with typing
in the factions and the like.
For supply wagons an ranged units...
I was thinking ranged units would start with 10 to 20 missiles. Supply wagons
would carry maybe 100 missiles.
It might be fun, but it could be really frustrating so my estimates may be
too low or too high.
Resources I m not sure how to exactly work them.
My thoughts were towards these being required to build new structures, but
units would still be purchased normally.
I was thinking the ettlement could pop out assorted differentpeasant types to
build the mines, lumber yards, stone quarries, and other structures. The units
would travel to areas on the map which they can build their specialized
structure. From there they would simply make their resource and from there I am
not sure. I thought they would make caravans, but that would bog everything
down I would imagine.
Farms might be another resource...any way, the settlement would get the
resources and use these to either build a special unit to go build their towers
and the like, or maybe it would just build them as in the first game.
So I do want the various structures to spread out a little to specialterrain
features, but the terrain itself would not give grant the structure points of
any sort. At least, that is what I am thinking. What do you think? I am open to
ideas.
Technically, there is a chance to miss doing damage if the target rolls higher
defense then the attackers damage roll. Maybe chances could be given to
specia;l skills that could give a feel to combat.
For example, Give a cavalry unit a "flank" special attack that if successful
may do more damage or cause a unit to rout. Things like that . Thoughts on
that?
Thanks again for the offer and suggestions.

Other races having the ability to level up sounds like a good idea.
Resource management also sounds very interesting and would add another element
to the game. It might provide a solution to the problem of eventually having
too many units if you are limited by resources. How would it work though? Would
there be mine tiles that would restore points to mine buildings built on them?
Resupplying missiles will probably be a pain, but would make the game more
realistic and interesting. And might not be too bad if the number of units are
less. Would also be interesting if the races have different transport units (ox
carts, donkeys, camel caravans etc.) Another interesting aspect could be if you
introduce a chance for units to miss; that way you could have more variety with
some units being more accurate.
Finally, this is probably going to take a lot of effort to make, so if you need
help with the more tedious parts of the process I'm willing to assist.

Hi,
i would be very interested in resource management and being able to do
that actively sounds great. I like the level up idea for all units as well.
Best regards

Betreff: [ian-reeds-games] warlords queston
I had a few questions for age of warlords.
Are people interested in resource management? Currently, the player
gets money from a merchant guild, but do peope want to deal with
lumber yards, mines and stone quarries, and gathering resources to build
units?
It might be interesting, but It could change the scope of the game and
be a real drag. I am not sure if it is worth the effort.
Another question is this. How do people feel about the ranged attack units
having limited missiles available. His would mean resupply wagons for
artillery and archers, slingers, crossbowmen. Some units might have a
forage ability to find their own missiles and make them, such as
rangers or halflin slingers.
Nce the missiles run out, these units would have to pull out melee
weapons until resupply wagons come.
The only problem with the resupply is the need for short maps. Any
situation would require a resupply wagon to be with a group.
The resupply wagon might be fun, I don't know.
Lastly, How do people feel about all or most units being able to level up?
Currently only humans/terrans can do it.
The level ups would be two steps. Veteran, then elite .
They would get a +1 bonus to health, added chance for crit hits, and
perhaps defense, and perhaps a unique skill or maybe a bonus to range,
number of attacks, movemen, or just towards damage and protection.
Thanks fo your input.
