Well details, ok allan now you have me on the spot.
We can assume this arena is built to withstand all these monsters fighting.
My ariea of the story was that it was externally powered somehow.
Now if it had its own reacters, a lightning rod etc just assuming my story wouldn't have anything to fall on.
But suppose like everything else in the city it was powered like everything else by mains power.
True it would have some generator or something to keep active.
Just suppose a large storm maybe one of your us cyclones or something like that, with large lightning and thunder, winds at force of say 500mph or larger would depend how much sfx you could put in without overloading sound cards could go.
Anyway, we can assume with all the wars previous that all that extra radiation from all those nukes or something mucks up the weather.
Well more than usual.
Even now its not an unknown to have a tornado or something suddenly appear, we had a small one take out some shops and as far as is known no way to predict if one is going to happening just the conditions.
Now we can assume that the arena is built to withstand all the giants so this storm won't do anything.
But its generator probably wouldn't say its primary powersource gets knocked offline by a large strick or the wind, say its backup generators get flattened by that to.
I have seen generators because my dad handles tv transmittion and the internal ones are in purpose built structures, the external ones can be boxes inside buildings or in sheds.
Now we can assume that the arena would have an internal generator but feadback would probably wreck it.
Right off the bat, the only way to replace your internal sources would be to get new ones and that could take time.
The only way to get the third powersource up would be that you got a generator from somewhere.
So yeah, my idea would probably be, have this happen say you were fighting a couple monsters with a couple of your monsters and well everything went boom, I mean you would hear it do so.
Crouds would panic etc.
Meanwhile you would have to finnish this fight, get it over and well find everyone being totaled.
At this stage since I know we have a lot of human maps where you have to defend against things, you and your rrobot, whatever need to go through the chaos, exit the arena, get and replace both the power supplies, and then get another generator on account of all the vehicles being destroyed by the storm.
Get it set up and you are ok.
If you wanted the arc continued, you could have it all go outside, and well have the storm knocks out radar for a bit so you are targeted by your own people, then you would have to run to a side to repair something else to get things going.
My actual basic idea is you fixing stuff to get things back under control.
Though I have no idea what to do at some point, I'd like it that with the storm destroying everything that can be destroyed that you may be on your own and have to battle for your life, obviously you would want the map winnable even if you would have to have a few tiles with simulated battle without any actual effect just so the game was winnable.
Anyway it would be interesting.
I have not listened to robot jocks but I should probably look at that maybe on youtube.
I did listen to a documentary of robot wars.
And you had to go at it till one robot was gone, in this case one guy destroyed the other robot's power unit which meant he won so.

I am glad you like it so far. The transformers were hard to classify until I
just decided to go with fantasy classes, then things just clicked.
I am not sure what you mean about the AI only controlling one giant? I noticed
that they are both controlled, but that they tend to bunch up on the same spot.
I am not really sure how to get the giants to react differently. That is more
for real coding people.

I just assumed some  kind of force field would be in place to protect the
crowds. In a movie named Robot Jocks, they were was a viewing arena that people
would buy  tickets for to attend match ups.
The all had to sign waivers to be there, so if they get killed, there was
nthing they could legally  against the robot sports corp.

In one scene, a Russian pilot pointed his missile launchers at the crowd. Then
he fired. The American pilot put his robot into the path of the rockets...but
even though he stopped  the missiles, the blowback knocked his robot backwards
and he ended up landing backwards on the arena stands! It was awesome!

So yeah, I think we can come up with some kind of map ere the crowd loses it's
protection. Could you write down some specific details? I like the idea.

Wow, just played the game, I must say I enjoy the game as it is now.
I played the infestation maps then played as robot and then robot mark2
on the arena.
In most cases a monster of any type seems to be able to beat a robot of
any time.
Now a transformer, thats a different story.
I have not tried 1 on 1 but I have tried 2 on 2 and battled monsters of
different types and monsters with random transformers.
I almost never loose, however, it can get a bit tricky, the wrong move
and I am dead.
The only thing I have noticed is that the ai will always opt for the
stratogy of going out with 1 enemy at a time, while this is good, once
the enemy is dead the other should activate.
Ofcause depending what I have I can go in guns blazing or do 1 hit 1 and
then kill the other things.
I like transformer against transformer battles, transformer against
monster/ changeling /mutant/ robot mak2 battles as these can really
wreck your day.
monster against transformer and straight robot against transformer
battles are usually ok as long as you get the right transformer.
If you don't well.
On that note, what is actually keeping the crouds away from being
attacked by the giants in the arena I just wandered because a lot of
them are close.
In most things not sure about arenas but I know racing circuits there is
some sort of barrior I guess it would be some force field or something
that you couldn't go past.
One map you could add to the arena story could be that during a battle,
there is a thunder storm said thunderstorm blows up the transformer to
the place and all power is off.
All the giants break out and well kill the crouds, cocoons everywhere
maybe etc.
Anyway you and an army of transformers against a lot of things, mean
while you need toget your transformer replaced.
Ofcause if you loose everyone dies, so you need to call a new one to get
delivered and installed but it may take 30 rounds to do that.
I am not sure maybe make it simpler kill all the monsters or just the
ones you are fighting.
Either that and be the guy running the place and managing the arena
could be its own arc I suppose.

Hi,
Actually, that is a product of pure unadulterated laziness on my part. I
haven't really fixed up those maps yet, but    the intent was just to play the
type of critter  mentioned in the title.
When I get closer to finishing the map pack, the maps will be better. Thanks
for letting me know however, since I do tend to get tunnel vision and forget
all the other stuff while I work on one aspect.

Hi,

in the new version is a bug I think: In the freeway maps, it says that the
mysterious gate appears and you should select your giant. However, there is
already a standard monster or robot and the cursor is standing on it if the
maps start, not on the gate. There seems to be something wrong.
