Play another round... that seems the hardest to do. I think it could be
done, maybe, perhaps. I'd want to make map packs opt in for it though.
As I think I'd want it to work by saving a sort of snapshot of each
round to disc and then loading that back. That's my idea for it for now.
Any thoughts?
P.S. this is real far down the priority list but... it's still an idea.

I don't post much but I follow most of the threads and although I've never published any maps, I have worked on many ideas for fun here.
Right now I am working on a multiplayer idea centred on Mages duelling on arenas, and of course Magic the Gathering was a huge inspiration.
I have played Magic for many years before going blind, and the rules, specially the ones from the time you mentioned, are extremely familiar to me. In fact, the main battle system is approximately buildable on TB, but this opens a series of interesting questions as we think about some cards. I'll quote some examples as I remember the first ones:
- Time Travel. Play another round. The play another round effect can be longly cummulated with other cards.
- Counterspell. Many effects, specially on blue magic, use this effect, which involves acting outside your turn.
- Discard. Specially on black magic, emptying the opponent's hand is a very common strategy.
These are just the first I've figured out. I think it is possible to create a very nice map pack that emulates to some extent the feeling of MtG duels, even if some cards become unapplyable.
About the card texts, look for "Magic the Gathering 5th edition full spoiler" on Google, they use the "full card spoiler" to refer to the text of all cards in any given edition.

Do you think it's possible? I haven’t played in years, but I seem to recall that it was pretty basic. Artifacts, monsters,spells and the mana cards of various colors.
