   Good Evening,

I heard this demo, and I was impressed. I have always wondered if something like this would be possible. If I knew anything about programming, I would even be willing to take a crack at as many of the popular gaming systems as possible. I hope the project continues and, should it become available, I would give it a try for certain.

Best Regards,
Brent Buswell

It's nice to know I don't need a controller or adaptive device to make
it work, though if this really takes off, I would probably get one.
and at the risk of putting too much on your plate, I absolutely love
this! lol
I never made it through any of these games, though the nights spent in
companionship playing them was great.
I'm no longer in a position of having someone willing, or eager to do
this so being able to play these games would be such a boost in many
ways. The sad part is I would star tto wonder if the totalwar series
would be adaptable. lol
Regardless, I think this is a worthwhile project to pursue, even if
you ended up having to charge for the time and effort involved. I'd
likely have to save up for each game or whatever, but the motivation
is there. lol
I never thought I'd see the day when these types of games would be
accessible, but you're right on the cusp. It would be a shame to not
see it happen to oprove it's possible. On the other hand, doing all of
that for no charge seems to be asking a bit too much from a person.
In a way, it's a real shame that games have moved beyond that system
into the realm of 3d, but maybe even that can be overcome. in any
case, that's just awesome and gives me a lot of hope. great job, and
thanks for showing us what is possible with the right knowledge and
skills. I hope you can run with the project, even with a full plate,
and thank you for being on the leading edge of this sort of idea. I'm
sure a lot of us miss or want to play these types of games, but can't.
Even if it were to have a cost attached, I think it would be worth it.

Thanks Michael. I'm glad you liked the demo.

I personally use an original XBox controller that plugs in through USB
and has a similar layout to the old Snes controllers.
The Snes9x emulator can work with a lot of different game pads, and it
uses the keyboard by default.

Nah, not really anything you can help with, sorry.
Though I do appreciate the enthusiastic words about the project.
My biggest hurdle for all of my projects is usually motivation and
interest.
And people being excited about a project can help me get re-motivated on
it.

I'll get back to this project at some point as I'd love to play some of
these old games again myself, but I've got a number of other things on
my plate at the moment.

Wow! I've been a bit behind on actually checking emails lately, so I
just got a chance to listen to this in its entirety. It's incredible!
I used to play vicariously through sighted friends on those types of
games.. think I even played both of those. I'm sure we played Lufia.
I miss those days, a lot.
I'd love to see this go further, though I'd likely stop doing much of
anything to play all those games again. lol
I think snes had some of the best rpgs around.
I'm curious though, do you have to get a controller with some kind of
adaptive port to do that, or did you set up your keyboard to act as
the controller?
Also, is there any way us complete techno-barbarians could help out
with that project?
Things like that make me wish I had some programming skills in even
one fingernail. grins

Wow, that was amazing!

Those games reminded me of what I used to play on the snes and genesis
as
well as the playstation.
I think final fantasy 3 I think it was that was on the snes. There was
others but it is hard to remember all of them.

Anyway, thanks for showing that! It was really cool!

with
Chrono Trigger and Lufia 2

Hi all,

A while ago I started a project to see if I could make Chrono Trigger,
and
possibly other games, accessible when played through the Snes9x
emulator.
I hadn't worked on this project for a while but was looking at starting
it
up again and thought I'd make a quick demo to show people how far it
got.
http://blindaudiogames.com/Downloads/ChronoLufiaDemo.mp3

It shows Chrono Trigger and Lufia 2.
I'm calling the project SNAP, short for Super Nintendo Accessibility
Project.
Enjoy!
