I used Zoom the other day when Julie did a chat with her kids, albeit the free
version which last 40 minutes, as you mentioned.
It's very good & pretty straightforward to use I believe. I didn't do the log
in myself.
I'd like to think that the 40 min version would be sufficient for us.
If not you can just log in again, although I think you'd need a different email
address to invite the participants once again.

This afternoon I took part in a conference organised by DLWP for their
casual staff re the current employment situation. What is relevant was
the app we used and the possibility it would offer for on-line meetings
for ourselves.
It offers video / audio so we can see and hear each other assuming we
have a camera / microphone set up on a laptop or phone.
It was very easy to install and to operate.
It works very well indeed.
I am not sure whether the DLWP paid for it. Someone must do, no one will
provide something like that for nothing. I think there is a free version
though which offers up to 40 minute meetings (some might applaud that!)
and it is free for participants.
It might help us get together to discuss the possible internet broadcast
more fully.
