It was me that (for the most part) put the links in last year as a
convenience however I totally see your point about them becoming stale
over time. They are just replicating information that is already/will
be provided so I would just strip them.
The one exception should probably be the webmail location, whilst that
has changed since last year (details in the Studio Guide that went out
last weekend), I don't envisage it changing year on year so it would
make sense to leave it there, even though I cover it elsewhere.

Personally I am not a fan of putting links in documents like
this because the links become redundant constantly as we change their
location and it makes the document a nightmare to maintain. This also
compromises the document integrity and people's confidence in it if
they don't work. I would advise to remove the links altogether.
I would prefer putting in the document, something like ' The
links or location for this document will be emailed to you or
communicated in some other way.'

It would make sense to include the rules for ad/promo inclusions in
this document as well once Ralph & Tony have figured out how they
want to do it. As it stands we have two documents that get sent
out, this one and my more technical one. It feels like this one is
the correct place for that information rather than generating
another document which will I think just add confusion.
BTW: Am still awaiting confirmation on the DJ email addresses as
per my earlier mail:
1. I have a list of DJ emails c/of Steve from the last broadcast.
Assuming these are all unchanged (can this be confirmed please?)
the only one I'm lacking is for Katie. Any idea when we'll have
that?

It's probably safe to say that the Rules and Guidelines document
needed a bit of work so I have used a bit of experience in
writing standards and compliance documents to totally revamp it.
I notice some of the links aren't active yet (or don't work at
all).
I think it is probably more or less, finished. We can always
tweak it as time goes on.
If there are any immediate updates to this let me know but I have
included every element of the previous document but reworded and
reformatted it.
You will also notice that I have significantly updated the OFCOM
broadcasting compliance section to bring it up to date. Whilst
much of it is common sense, going forward we will need to prove
to OFCOM that our compliance systems are robust and (in my view
anyway) it is entirely sensible that we get into good habits now
even though this is an internet only broadcast.
For ease of use, the whole document is navigable by clicking the
front page contents links.
