On the one hand, this sort of makes sense as to why it seems very
prevalent with SimonV, a couple of years back he specifically wanted
this type of feature, he's aware now that it exists (it didn't back in
2019) and therefore is quite possibly making use of it. Whereas
probably not many others are so it doesn't crop up.
On the other hand, it doesn't line up with anything Rick has told me
about how he uses the package....
Aside, a lot of what I do often involves trying to get people to
explain very clearly in simple steps what they do and it's a fairly
common that we all do so much sub-consciously, we struggle to do it.
My wife (former teacher) tells me one of the things they used to get
kids to do is explain in clear steps how to say, make a cup of tea or
toast and most of them would forget to mention key things like taking
the mug of the shelf or getting the knife out of the draw to butter the
toast....
Anyway, am planning on rolling the update out later this evening then
we'll see if it does indeed fix the problem all round or whether there
are further gremlins in there.

Again, useful stuff to know that you're seeing a distinct pattern of
behaviour. Can I just double check the exact steps here:
Specifically, when I double-click the mouse direct on a track from
the Daytime playlist it loads into the next available slot on the
relevant player. Subsequent to playing that track, and on my next
visit to the playlist, it will have changed colour to denote
"played". All as expected.
So this would essentially be:
1. Press the "Load" button
2. Double click the next track to load (appears in the panel)
3. Click OK
4. Press "Play"
All is well.
And in this case:
Conversely, if I single left-click the mouse on a track then left
click on the "play" button, although it loads in the relevant slot
without problem, and after playing it disappears from the player
and appears on the recently played list between the players, as
you'd expect. However, on my next visit to load from the
playlist, that very same recently played track is the same colour
as the remaining "available" (i.e. unplayed) tracks, as are any
others which were selected in the same way. This could be
awkward, and may catch out the unwary.
1. Press the "Load" button

And in this scenario, next time you "Load" the track, it's showing
as unplayed?
It would be interesting, if next time around you tried the latter a
couple of times and just took note as to whether the name of the
playlist appears in each of the panels - as highlighted in the link

Hi Rick,
That sounds exactly like the problem that has been plaguing us.
And any info on how you use the system, no matter how trivial it
sounds is useful.
My best guess at the moment (and it is very much that) is that it
does seem to be related to how people use the software. Quite
often when perusing the music logs, particularly on weekdays, it
looks like Simon on breakfast gets a lot of these cropping up yet
for the rest of the day maybe one or two. I was actually looking
at them when you were on air Sunday and noted you'd had an awful
lot of them cropping up as well. So it does suggest that both of
you are maybe doing something that everyone else maybe doesn't do
as much which is tripping the problem. But what that is, I don't
know....
This is also why I was keen for people to keep an eye on the info
presented in the panels:

Your show would have been interesting to see but unfortunately
Nick decided to turn off the option that displayed the playlist
name (he's been suitably told off.....)
Somewhere along the line, the track seems to have "lost" it's
association with the playlist - which is why we're getting this
problem. Seeing whether it disappears from one of those panels may
help to figure out where it's getting lost.

Ralph's experience; when I select the next playlist track with
a single click, then right click on play it loads okay. But
when I next go to playlist, although I know the one before has
been played, it hasn't changed colour which indicates to me
that it hasn't been played. However, if I double click on a
track it immediately loads as do others on the list if I do a
multiple selection, and on my next visit they have changed
colour.
It's an anomaly which could catch a a DJ out, if they haven't
been paying attention!
Sorry if this just complicates things further, but it may help

Hi Jon. This happened this afternoon. I’m not sure if it’s the
same that Nick has been on about or not. So. I clicked on the
load button and the next track came up automatically as it
always does. Then pressed play to put it in the top of the
player, as you do. It never reached the top player. It
vanished. When I went to load again it was sitting there but
showed up as played. I tried it again. It went through the
correct motions until I tried to put it in the top player. As
per the video. It was a track marked Blue so a New Music track.
About 5:16/17 pm.
