They are a mixture of German and English.

I'm not sure, and none of those people are alive. My mom was not born until 3
years after this picture, so even she cannot say for sure. I did think of
that. My grandma is 19 in this picture. Your aunt Katherine would have been
17. So it could have been her. Your grandma would have been 42. So, maybe your
aunt.
I just looked at the order on the back, which can't be right. The order says
that Elizabeth (your mom) is on the left. She was 11 in 1924. There is no way
that the person on the left is 11. But your aunt Katherine would have been 17,
and your grandma would have been 42. If it was your grandma, she was a pretty
young-looking 42. Possible for sure, but she looks more 17 than 42. Mary
Brausch was 28. That woman in the middle looks 28. I am leaning more and more
to your aunt Katherine on the left.
