Lily,
Well, now I’m really confused! When we were talking about “Hoffman’s”, I
thought this was on my mother’s side. When checking on my trees I’ve found
that I have Hubers on bother sides. (Dad’s side) Johann Roemmich married two
Huber women, first Katharina and then Dorothea – my 3rd Great Grandmother.
Dorothea’s father was Johann Georg Huber and her mother was Anna Maria Lang.
I know this hasn’t solved anything – it’s truly a journey.

Penny,
I sent a question about Huber’s to my cousin in Germany. I will google
translate. First, My question to Herbert Hoffman and then his reply. Maybe
it will help someone on our list. In case anyone would like to peruse.
Herbert and a colleague of his started a website of settlers in Franzfeld,
Hungary and surrounding area. It is in german and can be accessed at
http://tx21.de. Nothing fancy but has lots of information.

Herbert,
I had a question about Johann Michael Huber. There is one person associated
with DNA on the Huber or Lang side. Her relative was born on 17 February 1774
in Enzberg, Enzkreis, Baden-Württemberg. His name is Johann Georg Huber.
However, he went to Russia and married there in 1798. I wonder how you got
information about our Johann Michael Huber. Are these two cities nearby? Johann
Michael could have been married to another woman in Kondringen and maybe his
children are from this person. Barbara Danzeisen and Johann Michael married
about 1796 per your notes. What do you think?
Lily
Hello Lily,
a difficult question:
The Johann Michael Huber * 28.01.1748 is from Köndringen / Baden, that is near
Freiburg, about 100-150 km distance from Enzberg.
I do not know the Johann Michael Huber from Enzberg / Württemberg. But - many
settlers from New Pasua come from this area.
The fact that siblings emigrated to Hungary or Russia was normal for poor
people at the time. The emigration of Russia was but (as far as I know)
a little later, about 1800 - 1820.
Is your question about DNA matches? If so, I could imagine that in the line of
my grandmother, Eva Klauser * in New Pasua connections Klauser / Huber gave.
The mother of my grandmother, Eva Klauser was a born Lang. Again, there were
certainly connections Klauser / Lang / Huber The DNA match can only be derived
via New Pasua.
The information about Huber / Danzeisen I have unaudited from another tree.
The name Huber is the most common name in Germany, this name exists in every
village!
For me it is very clear: these are different families that are not related to
each other!

Hallo Lily,
Verbindungen Klauser / Huber gab.
Herbert
