You can find some outdated information on the net that tells you that SKAS is only a performance booster - that is simply not true for latter-day 2.6 kernels. It is a must. I have been using various 2.6.9, 2.6.10, 2.6.11 and 2.6.12 as host - but only with proper SKAS3 patch. I have actually used the 2.6.11 HIPL kernel as host - the one at the head of the hipl--main--2.6 branch - works just fine - but again, only with SKAS3 patches added.
