Hi everybody,
Below are this week's talking points. As the election heats up, we are
especially excited by the possibility of letters that promote the work of
Democrats and our delegation, specifically Annie Kuster who's up for
re-election. Talking about what Democrats have accomplished and stand for
is even more important than hitting Trump for his latest tweets.
If you are interested in signing onto a letter in support of our delegation
or Annie specifically, please respond and let me know if there's a
particular issue you'd like to talk about and I can get you a letter on
that topic!

made several racist comments responding to a meeting

business leaders, government officials, and others about diversity in New
Hampshire
- These racist comments have no place in our discourse and most
certainly should not be accepted or condoned by Governor Sununu or
Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut
- However, despite these completely inappropriate words, Sununu has
refused to call for his resignation.
- This, even though Sununu has previously said all public officials or
those who work for public officials should be held to a higher standard -
most recently when he called for Senator Hassan to fire her intern
- This blatant hypocrisy was also noticeable because Sununu has still
refrained from calling for State Rep Eric Schleien's resignation after he
was charged with sexual assault of a minor and is currently working out a
guilty plea.
*Domestic gag rule*
- This week marked the end of the commenting period on Trump's proposed
domestic gag rule
- If implemented, this rule would block people from getting accurate
information about their health care and would keep doctors from giving
patients the vital reproductive health care they need
- It would also prevent patients from getting birth control or any
preventative care at Planned Parenthood, and allow doctors to withhold
information to patients about their reproductive health
- This rule would affect 18,000 Granite Staters
- Countless Democrats and Republicans who understand the benefit of
access to care have spoken up to fight against this rule
- Sununu has remained silent
- Sununu claims he's pro-choice but his support of SC nominee Brett
Kavanaugh and his silence on the gag rule claim otherwise
