What gave you that idea? Your neighbors?

Agreed. Always sensible not to make sweeping statements when incidents like
this occur. Anyone can walk in/drive in behind a car or jump over the wall at
the front.

I don't think it's fair to assume it's a renter. We've had a renter in our unit
for years and he's been great and caused no issues. When we lived in our condo
there were often these same issues. The gates are easy for anyone on the
streets to enter unfortunately. I think it's important to file a police report
and get a letter out to all of the residents to make everyone aware and be on
alert in the neighborhood.

Were the vehicles broken in to, or were they unlocked and someone opened a door

I agree, that might be helpful.

Maybe a member of the board can simply print out a page that draws attention to
the recent series of break-ins and tape it up by the mailboxes.

Great idea Tiffany. Maybe Dennis and Cma can do this for us.

I definitely think an audit is overdue, but I won't go so far as to blame all
renters. The gentleman I spoke to this morning was young and quite nice. I
actually felt pretty bad for him because while I have unfortunately grown
accustomed to these type things happening in our neighborhood, he on the other
hand was caught completely off guard. I think for the benefit of those of us
who are concerned, renters and owners alike, it would still be helpful to
provide a letter or flyer to all residents letting them know what is happening
and to keep their eyes open to suspicious activity. Maybe if the perps see a
notice, they will realize we are watching them now and taking action.

Again, I believe it is rentors. That is how they have easy access.

Last night I had a houseguest who parked in my driveway. We discovered the car
had been rummaged through this morning. Luckily nothing was taken and no damage
was done to the car. Please be careful, there is indeed someone lurking around
our neighborhood at night looking for things to steal.

No big deal, not minimize this but I do leave my car open at times knowing if I
catch a thief I will handle it. I heard the alarm around 12 am on my side and
found my door ajar this morning, so I assumed it was my alarm, maybe it wasn’t
no broken glass.

Please report this to the police. It is important for our neighborhood as
calls for service dictate how many officers are assigned to the beats around
our area. Also, residents generally need to be vigilent about locking doors
and keeping items out of plain sight within their vehicles. We shouldn't have
to do this, but it is the unfortunate reality of living in the city. At the
same time, having suspicious individuals within our so called "gated community"
concerns me and I hope it concerns the board and CMA as well.

So sorry to hear that! Thank goodness your alarm went off and probably scared
the person away.

Did they break the window to get in, or is it someone who actually had the
ability to get the door unlocked?
