I would like to share two quick stories of how neighborly behavior has
personally impacted me in 2020.

(1) Earlier this year, a crazy man entered my gate on the Highland Rd side
of the property and was spitting on my herb garden on my front porch. One
of my neighbors recognized that this guy did not belong, called the police,
and then called to tell me what happened. Needless to say I was very
grateful during this COVID19 pandemic to have this brought to my attention.
I washed those plants and left them out in the sun for a couple weeks
before putting any of that basil into a meal!

(2) I have a soundbar/subwoofer for my living room television. Unknown to
me - the subwoofer volume was too intense and it had been driving my
neighbor crazy for weeks. One day, my neighbor knocked on my door and said
"hey, I'm sorry to bother you, but we are hearing a lot of noise from your
unit and the noise is shaking pictures on our wall." I had no idea and felt
terrible that this had been bothering my neighbor for so long. I lowered
the subwoofer volume.

I can't promise you that everyone is going to be thoughtful and
considerate 100% of the time, but I generally believe in the good nature of
people. Most people will be respectful to your space because they would
want others to be respectful of theirs.
