Jasmine,
I went with Estes back in 2013, and it was a lot less $$ than that - and it was
a Carrier (replaced both inside & outside units), and they threw in a 50-gal
water heater into the deal along with new thermostat. Even came out on a
Saturday to handle it all.
I don't see your email address below, so send me an email if you want
particulars.
Bill

Hi! The previous owners of our unit just installed a new system in 2012, but it
is leaking freon at both the interior and exterior coils. Repairs will cost
$2600 (even with parts covered under warranty), so I think it might make more
sense to replace the unit instead of investing one that might be a dud anyway.
We got a quote from Cool Ray, and a new Carrier unit and installation would be
around $7k but with a great parts/labor warranty and 3 year finance plan.
Anybody have any suggestions for brands/companies? We are replacing a leaking
water heater this weekend too, so we're trying to save as much as we can! Being
a grown-up is expensive!
Thanks in advance for any input, and I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful
weather!
