I think due to the pandemic you have people who have extra time to enjoy their
toys. I have noticed an extreme increase of racing and speeding noises late
into the night. Most of which comes from 1-20, 75/85, Freedom Pkwy with the
motorcycles racing and the other portion is Highland Ave Speeders.
Speed humps would definitely cut down on the speedsters that zoom down the
street late into the night.I don't see how speed humps would be an
inconvenience.
Another alternative is possibly those round bubble like markers which are
usually just before a cross street or railroad crossing. Those don't
neccesarily reduce speed but it would alert them to slow down. IDK just
throwing out alternative options.
Do cameras really work? Would the cameras be speed reading cameras? Cameras
would take longer to have an effect on the racing on highland ave. (Think: the
city would have to mail a ticket which takes a few weeks. If that person's car
isn't registered to a current address they won't even know that they have a
ticket.)

How about lobbying for a camera at the corner of Highland and Jackson or
elsewhere along the speedway?

Hi Stephen,Thank you for raising this. I have noticed the issue but I don't
support adding speed bumps to the road. It would be an inconvenience to all the
responsible drivers. Are there any other options? Can we bring attention of the
police to this, maybe a few speeding tickets may solve the problem. Ronke

Hello!
To all of my neighbors in the 100-200-300 buildings, I have no doubt that you
have recently noticed the increase in the speed demons racing down Highland Ave
late into the night. I have done a little research
(https://www.trafficsafetystore.com/resources/how-to-get-speed-humps) and found
that speed humps are not very expensive. While I think we may face some
obstacles requesting approval for speed control devices heading East towards
Atlanta Medical Center from downtown, I think we have a reasonable case for
proposing an installation on the West-bound side of Highland Avenue between
Jackson and Hilliard.
Please let me know your thoughts and if you would be willing to help out with
this project.
