Is anyone here a landscape architect?
I'll take a moment to respond to the nasty criticism of current state of
the landscaping to explain some basics that I have discussed during the 3
meetings that I have had with our landscaping property manager over the
last 4 months.
During the winter when it is cold and there is less sunlight, most plants
go into a dormant growth state. During the spring/summer the weather warms
and the plants grow.
Trimming/pruning should be performed while plants are in a dormant state to
avoid putting the plants at risk of disease or dying. It also happens to
make it much easier to clean out trash and lay fresh mulch.
The greenery in this community was severely overgrown due to lack of
attention over many years. There were some areas where overgrowth was
blocking windows, areas where it was completely view of doors (safety risk)
and others where the overgrowth was a threat to the structural integrity of
fencing. (Jackson St)
We took the necessary steps to cut it back appropriately. It does not look
good right now but it will appropriately fill out when mother nature
decides it is time to provide more warm, sunny weather.

The landscapers went way too far. How long will it take for the bushes to
grow back? Will they be replaced? Something needs to be done because they
have completely removed all privacy between one of the busiest streets in
Atlanta and our private community. Honestly, one of the reasons we bought
our unit was because of our little backyard area, where my fiancée and I
spend a lot of our time. Now all of our patio furniture, grill, and the
inside of our home is exposed to anyone who walks that busy street. I
really hope something is done and done soon. This really is unacceptable
and has created an eye sore for the community.
Apologies for being aggressive about this. We spend A LOT of time back
there so this is very frustrating.

We agree that the formerly bushy areas inside the community look terrible
now. Will they at least be back through to rake and mulch the newly

to know the middle ground in what tasteful and appropriate trimming would
look like. I'm hoping we didn't ask for them to trim like that.
The Myrtle Crepe trees are supposed to be so beautiful, and they still
haven't grown back from last year's depredation. It's really
unfortunate.

I noticed all of the bushes getting trimmed on Jackson street, it looks
like they are completely cutting them down. Is this expected? I like having
