Hi Victor,
With regard to the large landscaping project that we recently approved,
it seems like they missed a few areas during the walk-through to put the
proposal together.  I would suggest that we wait until the project is
complete for two reasons.  First, we've already spent our reserves and
landscaping improvements operating budget, so we will need to wait and
see what our financial situation looks like.  Second, there is a chance
that they could make minor improvements to other areas that have not
been specifically detailed in the quote.  For example, they might put
rubber mulch there.  While mulch is not as pretty as plants, it is
better than bare soil.  Maybe they have leftover plants that they can
put in that spot. Let's revisit this issue during our May meeting.
The wooden steps on the east side of the 600 building have always looked
that way.  It isn't the prettiest, but it isn't an emergency either.  We
can put this on our radar as a future project.  It shouldn't be too
expensive, but we also need a better idea of what we want accomplished.
If we have dead trees, then they should be removed.  The first step is
to get a quote and an opinion on whether they need to be removed right
away or if we have some time, i.e. is there an imminent threat they they
can fall over and damage property.  Then we check our operating budget
to see if we can do the project right away, at the end of the year, or
first thing next year.
Thanks,
Alex

Good afternoon board members. I hope you are all well. Just a couple of things.
(Sent to Highland list and personal emai in case it was too big)
1) see the pictures below of the front of unit 503. I suggest we put a bit of color and greenery there. I met the unit owner Nita and she was sharing how much better it would look. I looked at the proposal and there is not plan for anything in that space.
2) look at this mess of wood to give the meter reader access to the meters. It just looks untidy and sloppy. What can we do with that area?
3) the trees in the back yard of unit 503 and 504(Jackson Street side) are dead. Perhaps we can renovate there next year. The back of unit 401 is not as bad but will need some TLC by this time next year.
Thanks for your consideration. Everyone please stay safe out there. Peace ...
