Issue
Billing using programs that are designated as weekly and monthly are billed the
rate daily
Solution:
Proposal to make rates reflect different billing periods.
A program rate can be:
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly (based on a fixed conversion)
- Monthly (pro-rated by the actual days within a month)
Each rate will be converted to a daily equivalent and shown on-screen:
- Daily (unchanged)
- Weekly (divided by 7)
- Monthly - Fixed (Divided by a factor entered by user (e.g. 30 or 30.5))
- Monthly - Weighed (n/a. reports will calcaulate a daily rate by dividing
each stay-date by the number of days in its month)
Considerations to ponder:
- Rounding (up? down? next cent?)
Ottawa rounds up to next cent. But, if the TOTAL adds up to more than the
monthly max, the client gets the monthly max; e.g. $100 over 31 days = $3.2258.
This is rounded up to $3.23 but, after 31 days, the client maxes out at $100
and not ($3.23*31=$100.13)
