no,no,no! You are correct. We are referring to exactly that. I was just 
pointing to Lyne that the word 'pensionnaire' is appropriate because the 
children boarded at the school.

        Hi!
        When I hear "residential school", I think about the old government-run 
residential schools for aboriginal children where many students were horribly 
abused.  If you are referring to schools where students just live at, I think 
we should call it "boarding schools".  What do others think???

        Oh boy, I'm gonna display my ignorance:
        
        I think 'residential school' can be translated into 'pensionnat' as 
'residential' here means the kids 'resided' at the school. To me, 'residential' 
means "at one's own residence" so maybe this is why you are confused by Liz's 
translation.
