Another anecdote from those days that I remember well, was about the Director
of Public Health, who in a presentation on SW Surrey’s annual health
demographics utilising Microsoft (92/95) PowerPoint, blamed her secretary (it
would be her of course) for mistyping the word ‘HOSPITAL’ throughout.

We had to sit though the whole presentation trying not giggle when, in bold
letters, the word ‘H O P S I T A L’ flashed up on the screen.

Looking forward to meeting most of you at the Museum. Hopefully you can get to
the next one Christine - lockdowns permitting – or should I say variants
permitting.
Tony

Tony, loving your sense of humour!  Looking forward to eventually meeting you
all in person but sorry probably won’t be able to get to the meeting that Chris
has arranged.  Regards, Christine

Well, you should have been in the South West Surrey HA meeting in about 1992
when I slipped the CEO a note with a five-word message on it. He looked at it,
looked up, and said loudly, “This is the first message I’ve ever received where
every single word on it is misspelled.” And he grinned.😋

Yes I know I’m a bit of an enigma! 😊

A few cog wheels short though.

Hi Karen

Message received and response follows (though I m guessing this is mostly stuff
Chris will need to answer):

  1.   Sorry- I can’t see it can be ‘Rotary’ though I have no inkling of what
it might be, and Rotary is as good a guess as any 😊
  2.  I think what you suggest for second one is correct.

Hopefully they are Chis’s entries and he can read them. They are very difficult
to decipher - an enigma machine would be handy wouldn’t it?

Best Wishes

Tony

A few queries....

[cid:image001.png@01D7553A.ACEB60D0]

No. 84. ? cheque presentation at Seven Stars.  (Rotary?)

[cid:image002.png@01D7553A.ACEB60D0]

No. 11. (Bit faint) Rumanian Orphans at the Jolly Sailor ??

[cid:image003.png@01D7553A.ACEB60D0]

No. 71-75 and possibly 76. RST  and SHN. Not sure that SHN refers to no. 76 or
71-75.

And lastly...when you have a date that covers two days (e.g. 5/6/7/93)  I’m a
bit concerned that a search on a particular day, say the 5th,  won’t be
successful because XL  won’t ‘translate’ it to 05/06/07/1993 or even
05-06/07/1993. And what do you do if you just have the month and year? (I think
I’ve asked that one before so apologies)

It’s wobbly fence repair day.....

Regards, Karen xx
