any number I put here aren't valid or from any particular provider.
From the research I've done myself I would list it like this:
1. ~40Mbs ~£30pm
2. ~80Mbs ~£40pm
3. ~160Mbs ~£50pm
4. ~320Mbs ~£60pm
There are deals around, such as X months at a reduced rate, or 24 month
contracts for a reduced rate. So the numbers I've put there are what I think it
looks like as standard prices. Also, who knows what it will be in 6 months time.
The government funding is there to stimulate the market and encourge the
suppliers and service providers to invest in the infrastructure necessary. So
to qualify for the freebie there needs to be some reward for the service
provides also. Hence only the higher packages.

Good News – but we still have a long way to go and we need more help.
We now have some indication of the overall project cost from BT Openreach and
how much funding we, our community, will need to provide. We have a viable
project, one which Openreach will be able to deliver within the timescale. It’s
a question of if can we raise the funding to cover our side of the build costs.
As previously mentioned there are three options to fund our project:
1. Self-Funding where we raise the money from the community.
2. Government Funding Programme.
3. Combination of Self and Government funding.
We intend to take the Option #2 route of Government Funding. That way we will
cover the entire project cost. Meaning that we can all get fibre optic
installed to our properties for free. Absolutely zero to pay for the network
construction.
There is a catch. In order to qualify for government funding, we must have a
number of working connections as soon as the network is built. Those
connections must be 100Mbs+ connection speeds. If we don’t have those
connections, then the government won’t provide the money and we will need to
pay BT Openreach for the work of building the network.

To put this briefly into context the fibre broadband packages from the various
ISP’s tent to be provided at four levels.
1. ~40Mbs
2. ~80Mbs
3. ~160Mbs
4. ~320Mbs
Each level has a greater per month charge. Taking up a 100Mbs+ connection
therefore means that you would be taking one of the more expensive ISP
packages. You of course get more network speed, but as a bonus you qualify for
project funding and help to cover the network build costs.
We do need several dedicated residents for our project to be successful but do
only contact me if you think you might be interested. I’ll setup a meeting with
you and talk you through all of the points so that you are clear about what we
are doing and what your help would mean. You can then decide if you would be
willing to help the project or not.
