With August behind us, we are currently at 187 reported species for Prince
Edward County! As fall begins soon and winter ends the year we still need a
few birds to get to 200 (or at least surpass last year's record of 196), a
milestone never accomplished before in central Virginia. We are way ahead
on shorebirds when compared to last year, but we are a bit behind on
waterfowl. We also still need several warblers. Here are some current
misses, with other surprises still yet to be seen:

Magnolia Warbler
Herring Gull
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Pine Siskin
Canvasback
White-winged Scoter
Common Goldeneye
Merlin
Peregrine Falcon
Worm-eating Warbler
Vesper Sparrow
Veery
Nashville Warbler
(Any swans)
