Not counting bluebird, we had five thrush species at Holliday Lake State
Park this morning! Two younger birders were walking around they park when
they found a HERMIT THRUSH. I joined them for a few minutes and we found a
couple SWAINSON'S THRUSHES in the day use area near the Park Office. I
continued my walk after they left and found a WOOD THRUSH and a
GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH eating dogwood berries near the Redbud Bathhouse.
Before heading into the office a redder thrush flew from a cedar tree to a
nearby dogwood; it was a VEERY!
