Spring Forward but Stay Rested Webinar 3/17/2015 It's been a week since we all sprang forward to Daylight Savings Time and many are still struggling to regain that 60 minutes of sleep. TRICARE and Military OneSource are co-hosting a webinar on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1:00pm EST to help you fight popular sleep myths and get some rest. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited due to system capacity. Sign up at <https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5370744131061957890> https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5370744131061957890. Participants must avoid sharing personal health information when asking a question. There are many things that we can do to make sure that we get enough sleep so that when Daylight Savings Time hits twice a year, there is minimum impact to our lives. This webinar will discuss these helpful tips, as well as sleep myths and the facts that dismiss them. The featured speaker for this event is Dr. Jordanna Hostler. Dr. Hostler is a Pulmonary/Critical Care and Sleep Medicine specialist at the Sleep Disorders Center at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at Bethesda. She is the acting Chief of Sleep Medicine and is an active faculty member of the Sleep Medicine fellowship program. She is also an associate professor of medicine at the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. This webinar will discuss the importance of sleep, sleep issues and the consequences of functioning without adequate sleep. You may submit your questions to Jordanna Hostler before the webinar by sending an email to MOSWebinars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:MOSWebinars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> . This puts nearly one third of America's children at early risk for Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and even stroke. Join Operation Live Well on the #UltimateFamily Twitter event this Thursday, March 19, 2015 as we join the conversation to combat this epidemic. Be sure to use the #UltimateFamily hashtag as you talk to experts from the American Heart Association, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the "Let's Move!" Initiative, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and many more. From noon EST to 3:00pm, we will answer your questions and discuss general topics on supporting healthy eating for children and families, promoting exercise habits for the entire family and specific challenges for minority groups where childhood obesity numbers are highest.
