Has everyone heard about the bill HR 4833, Migratory Bird Protection Act? Would it be worthwhile sending our listserv a message like the one below asking them to support it?  Guy

There's a bill (H.R.4833, or MBPA, Migratory Bird Protection Act) in the US congress right now, the purpose of which is to strengthen the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), and to prevent future wrong interpretations of that Act. You can help this bill by letting your US congress representatives know that you support it.

It can be especially helpful to ask representatives to “co-sponsor and support” HR 4833. American Bird Conservancy provides this usefulinformation form to make contacting your representative easier. Even better is to call the representatives' office during business hours (9 – 5) . The representatives and numbers for the Boone NC area are listed below.

1. Representative Virginia Foxx (202) 225-2071; (828) 265-0240

2. Senator Richard Burr (202) 224-3154; (828) 350-2437

3. Senator Tom Tillis (202)224-6342; (704) 509-9087
