I’m agnostic, but only because I’ll be out of town 6/23-6/28.

Hi all,
The NC Bird Atlas is having a "Big Atlas Weekend" on the 24th to 26th of this
month, and Adrianna has suggested (see below), that HCAS sponsor an event to
support it. I imagine this would mean planning a walk and advertising for it
on our various media platforms.
1. I wonder whether anyone has any ideas on how to make something like this
work?
2. Do all agree that this is something the chapter should get into?
Thanks, Guy

Hey Guy,
So I just got some more information from some of the Atlas staff about Big
Atlas Weekend plans. I would love to do something with HCAS. Here is a rough
outline of the weekend schedule as well as what the Transylvania Co Bird Club
will probably do:
Wednesday, 6/22 = encourage club members to attend virtual BAW kick-off event
Thursday, 6/23 = encourage folks to attend Scott’s NC Bird Atlas 101 virtual
event
Friday, 6/24 @ 6 p.m. BAW officially kicks off
Saturday, 6/25 = Meet local club members to answer follow-up questions, make
sure everyone is linked to the NCBA portal in eBird, and lead a local birding
walk (ideally in a priority block)
Sunday, 6/26 @ 12 p.m. BAW officially ends
Wednesday, 6/29 = virtual BAW awards night
Here is the link announcing the event (with additional embedded links) that
HCAS can post on their social media accounts
https://ebird.org/atlasnc/news/save-the-date-2022-big-atlas-weekend-june-24-26.
The link to Scott's 101 event is not available yet.
I'm happy to send out this info to HCAS (except I don't have access to any
HCAS social media). Would you be interested in co-planning/co-leading a bird
walk on Sat, 6/25?
Let me know what you think!
Adrianna
