Hi everyone, HCAS is collaborating with Valle Crucis Elementary and the
ASU Audubon Chapter to plant shrubs and a few trees at VCCP. These will
replace those removed along the berm in the parking lot, and also in the
area where the park put in a drainage swale. The shrubs will improve
native habitat in the park -- habitat which has gradually degraded over
the years. VC Elementary is contributing $450 toward the cost of the
plants, so we'll be able to really make a difference.
The workday will be held next Wednesday, October 27th at 2:30pm. The
plants will already be in their locations, so we'll just need to dig the
holes, plant them and water them. The students from the elementary will be
on hand to help out where they can. I hope we can have a good turnout
