Bristol Bird Club Presents: Sparrows, Wrens, and Late Migrants at
Orchard Bog in Shady Valley, TN.
Larry McDaniel and myself (Rob Biller) will co-lead a Bristol Bird Club
bird walk to Orchard Bog in Shady Valley on Oct 23. We will meet at
Orchard Bog at 8:00am. We will be looking for returning and migrating
sparrows (targeting Lincoln's Sparrow), (possible) unusual wrens, and
any other late migrants coming through Orchard Bog. I'm going to set the
time for the walk for 8am -12pm. Depending on bird activity it might end
early or go late - but you can come later or leave early or whatever
works best for you.
I will provide a google map link below - but remember, if you are coming
from the direction of Bristol (coming over Holston Mountain) you will
turn right on Orchard Road and on to Orchard Bog on the left. If you are
coming from the direction on Elizabethton (over Cross Mountain) you will
turn left on Brinkley Road and that road will turn into Orchard Road and
on to Orchard Bog on the right.

If you are unable to get to the valley this Saturday - The Elizabethton
Club is having an Orchard Bog trip on Oct 30.
Shady Valley is a great place to get some interesting stuff during fall
migration.
