Dear all,

You are receiving this message because you are either a member of the organizing committee or have expressed interest in participating at the Hellenic Bioinformatics conference.

In the last few months we have managed to confirm close to 20 invited speakers from around the world, most of them very big names in their field (the list and preliminary agenda is available on the link above). All invited speakers are coming to our conference on their own expenses, which I consider a great honor for all of us and a huge support of our effort.

In addition, the minister of Research, Prof. Fotakis has agreed to place the meeting under the auspices of the ministry and will try to be present at the opening of the meeting. The minister of Northern Greece, Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha, has pledged financial support and participation in the meeting as well. IMBB will also sponsor the meeting and the Alexander innovation zone (Thessaloniki's Smart up innovation Hub) has agreed to participate and has been brought up as co-organizer of the event. We are currently looking for more sponsors.

So it seems we are gearing towards a great event, except for one problem.

We still dont have participants. So far we have only 5 registrations in the conference, and only one submitted abstract (mine), although both are open for about a month now and less than a month away from early registration deadline.

We need everyone to register, and we need submitted abstracts as soon as possible so we can select the remaining talks and finalize the agenda within the next few weeks.

We also need everyone's (particularly the organizers of the event) help to circulate the information of the conference and get as many of your colleagues to register and submit abstracts as possible.

Several people have put a great deal of their time and effort to make this happen. Strong and wide participation will mean this is indeed needed and therefore their time is well spent and we should continue having these in the years to come.

Thank you all, and looking fwd to see you in November
