The A16 is for 16 exposures 6x4.5 on 120 film.  A12 is 12 exposures 6x6 on 120
film.

I stay away from 220 film backs myself.  Same for 70mm.  Reason:
far less readily available film than 120.

I personally use my A16 quite a bit for landscape work.
